The sea trumpeter is a gastropod predatory mollusk from the trumpeter family of the same name. It has an elongated and expanded shell with axial thickenings and spiral keels or without them. The mollusk is light or dark brown on the outside, with a horny cap and smooth inner lip; it has no teeth.

The sea clam lives in temperate seas of the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere, as well as in tropical waters. Lives off the coast at the bottom.
